More about JANEL AND ANTHONY:
“Janel & Anthony – guitars and ‘cello respectively – play a haunting and humbly virtuosic form of music wherein the elements of electronics, looping, and lo-fi timbres live both in intimacy and in majesty in the same house as acoustic instruments and folk/blues-inspired melodies. As such, it is both timely and timeless, drenched as it is in intoxicating atmosphere; wan, quiet voices submitting to waves of sonic drama. Who could possibly resist it?” –Nels Cline

Larry Miller hits his head

May 15th, 2012

If on the odd chance I actually like something, it usually dies a quick death soon after I’ve become acquainted with it.

Usually this happens with restaurants or TV shows – two things I usually have no use for.

A little Italian place that opened late last year – that I liked – immediately closed as soon as I started telling people how great it was. In 1983 I was 10 and became obsessed with the Police, and of course they broke up in 1984.

My latest fave rave is Larry Miller's Podcast. Miller has played the bad guy in about 1,000 movies (see Eddie Murphy’s “Nutty Professor”), and he played the doorman on “Seinfeld”.

The podcast is great because it deals with important issues like sticking bits of soap together to make a bigger bit of soap. Think of it as Tom Snyder on LSD.

I’ve been enjoying the podcast for a few months now, and low and behold the guy slips and sustains a head injury. This was really inconvenient for me, as I look forward to each new episode. Television for the most part has nothing for me, and this podcast – along with “Mike and Tom Eat Snacks” are my main modes of entertainment.

Get better Larry; don’t make me watch TV.
